Characterization and properties of hard coatings (SS1)

The special session on “Characterization and properties of hard coatings” will cover the analytical and numerical solutions of the growth kinetics of simple and multicomponential hard coatings in different metallic substrates when are subjected to particular equilibrium as well as specific boundary conditions. Also, diverse techniques to characterize the mechanical, physical and chemical properties of hard coatings are included in this session.

Topics of the Session:
  • Diffusion models used in the formation of hard coatings.
  • Growth kinetics of multicomponent hard coatings.
  • Evaluation of mechanical properties in hard coatings (in micro and nano scale).
  • Physical properties of hard coatings obtained by diverse techniques.
  • Corrosion resistance of hard coatings.
  • Simulation of diverse properties of hard coatings by Finite Element Method.
